To say the least 2020 has been an interesting year. Alberta Culture Days has been expanded for the full month of September and Art Market has sadly been cancelled. Hopefully we will be back at Art Market next year and will get to see all our wonderful friends and clients.

2017 Show Season
Busy times ahead. This weekend, August 19 and 20th at Longstock in Longview Alberta. It is a weekend full of art and music. This event is always a great time. The 26th sees me in Glenwood Alberta for the day. Many special events planned. Hope to see some familiar faces!
Show Season 2016
After a lovely five week road trip it is time to dedicate time to the studio. This year will see more of the collapse scarves in many different and wonderful colours. 2016 shows are now listed on the front page but as many of you know the studio is always open by chance or appointment. Hope to see you soon!
Relaxing
It was a busy show season and a big thank you to all that supported us. It was a tough go this year with the economy in the tank. We are back in Mexico and, a month later, still getting our feet on the ground. The Mexican loom is threaded and ready to go with a few tea towels. Hope everyone’s Christmas was good and that all your new year wishes come through.
Wonderful times
New Ideas
As fall comes into view the inventory continues to grow in the studio. Some new unusual buttons I purchased in Seattle look great on the wrap around scarves. Pat Moore’s fabulous felting continues to inspire great fronts for purses. We, including Don and Wallis, are off to Salt Spring island where they will do their thing and I will enjoy a retreat at Jane Stafford’s Textiles.
Seattle and Longview
What a wonderful trip to Seattle we had and the fiber stores were out of this world so got lots of new threads to work with. The selection of buttons for the new wrap scarves was fantastic. I was like a kid in a candy shop. Thank you all that came to see me at ‘Longstock’ the Longview music festival this past weekend. Although the weather was a trial, spirits were high and the music great!
Color Combinations
Perhaps it has to do with teaching a workshop on color theory at the recent HWSDA conference this spring but I find that my color combinations are expanding. Not so many monochromatic schemes. Also some new purses with felted fronts and finished and decorated. I love the decorating part. One is ocean influenced with blues and cool pearl beads. I am having fun!
Working hard
Off to the mountains today but takings scarves with me to get those ends tied. Some new color combinations this year. I am making both the traditional long scarves and the button on wrap around ones as well.
